EVs are winning our hearts and minds when it comes to safety. In fact, there is official evidence which indicates that some of the safest cards available are the new Electric Vehicles. Both the Vauxhall Ampera and the Nissan LEAF have the top rating for crash safety.

84% of UK drivers believe that EVs are as safe as conventional fuel cars. Blend this with a typical saving of 35% on servicing and repair costs… no wonder sales of EVs have increased!

There are sound reasons why EVs are so cost effective to maintain:

• Elimination of oil changes

• No need for replacement of exhaust systems and couplings

• Regenerative breaking reduces brake wear

• Fewer moving parts

• Electrical systems do not require frequent maintenance

Add the 75% saving in ‘fuel’ costs and the improved network of charging posts… EVs really are an increasingly realistic, smart choice. Talk to the EValu8 team about the best options and funding opportunities for you – we’ll help get you started on your green journey.

Formula E begins in 2014

New world championship racing for Electric Vehicles – Formula E – is giving the EV image an exciting makeover! Set to start in 2014, Formula E will involve 40 cars, 20 drivers and 10 teams.

McLaren is providing the electric engine, transmission and electronics for the cars. These ‘go faster’ EVs will accelerate from 0-100km/h in under three seconds and will have a top speed of 220km/h.

Each race will last for one hour and will be based in an urban location. The first cities to confirm as host are Rome and Rio de Janeiro. Eight more are expected to be announced dung 2013 as excitement builds towards the 2014 launch.
